Obituary for Billy

William Augustus Roberts, 74 of Cynthiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 after a sudden battle with liver cancer. He is now at peace with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Bill was born on , August 1, 1946, to the late Clifford A and Evelyn Hefner Roberts in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his only brother, Clifford E. Roberts of Albertville Alabama.
After graduating from Chattanooga High School in 1964, he went on to study Industrial Engineering at Tennessee Tech University graduating in 1969. He was a Lieutenant with the United States Army, Reserves.
While pursuing his master’s in engineering, at the University of Tennessee, Bill met the love of his life, Artura Jill Neely, a nursing student at Fort Sanders, on a blind date. They soon married on January 17, 1972 and were married for 49 years. Together they built a wonderful life and had three wonderful children.
Bill is survived by his wife, Artura Jill Neely Roberts; two sons, William (Angie) Augustus Roberts Jr., Troy (Meghan) Cole Roberts; one daughter, Carrie (Doug) Nicole Power; six grandchildren, Shelby Nicole Roberts, Dray Douglas Roberts, Chandler Cole Power, Corbin Augustus Power, Cameron Silas Power and Adayln Olivia Roberts.
Bill was a member and deacon of Covenant Presbyterian Church. He worked thirty-five years as a process engineer for 3M in Cynthiana Kentucky before retiring.
The family of Bill Roberts wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the incredible nurses of Hospice, AD and Julie, Dr. Stephen Besson, Pastor Mike Bowen, church family and countless friends and family.
A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, January 22nd at 7:00 PM at Ware Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ware Funeral Home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
