Obituary for William Lawrence Spenneberg
William Lawrence Spenneberg, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Harrison Memorial Hospital. He was born on December 16, 1930, to the late John Thomas and Edna Pearl Toomey Spenneberg. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two daughters, Deborah Spenneberg and Hazel Stewart; two brothers, Lewis Albert Spenneberg, George Missink Spenneberg; two sisters, Ella Frances Watkins, Iva Christine Stewart; and two grandchildren, Jamie Cole Mitchell, George Joseph Spenneberg.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Emma Mae Gaunce Spenneberg; five daughters, Anna (John) Spenneberg-Rich, Stella Darlene Goodrich, Bobbie (Jimmy Joe) Jean Mitchell, Tryna Joyce Spenneberg, Tracy (Johnny Todd) Darlene Crocker; one sister, Juanita Osborne; nineteen grandchildren, Garrett W. Hammonds, Cheree (Mark) Travis, Latisha (Tony) Gipson, Tammy (Tony) King, Josh Goodrich, Lenisa (Dave) Lenee Lang, Jesse (Kayla) James Mitchell, Joey Mitchell, Derik (Seda) Baldwin, Justin (Lacey) Baldwin, Justin Crocker, Sarah Crocker, Jessica Crocker, Asia Spenneberg, Dylan (Savannah) Lewis, Emma Crocker, Victoria Spenneberg, Willow Spenneberg, Alpha Spenneberg; forty-five great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren.
William was a member at Lair Methodist Church, he liked being at church. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and golfing.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at Ware Funeral Home, with visitation prior to services, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. also at Ware Funeral Home. Rev. Terry McDuffey will lead services, burial will be private. Pallbearers are Dylan Lewis, Jesse Mitchell, Derik Baldwin, Garrett Hammonds, Justin Baldwin and Todd Crocker.
