William Leslie Vallandingham, age 84, Mt. Carmel, Illinois, formerly of Cynthiana, died Thursday, September 29, 2022 at his residence. Born in Cynthiana, September 2, 1938 to the late William Arnold and Nancy Price Williams Vallandingham, he was a member of Unity Christian Church. William was a retired boiler maker and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmith, Forgers and Helpers. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John Williams, Fred Williams and Marshall Williams; and two sisters, Nancy Furnish and Yvonne Walsh.
He is survived by his wife, Saundra Lou Vallandingham; two sons, Tom (Junie) Vallandingham, and Charles Allen (Roshawne) Vallandingham; four daughters, Debbie (Billy) Fryman, Charlene (Donald) Davis, Judy Rose and Leslie Vallandingham Mays; a brother, Charles (Barbara) Vallandingham; and several grandchildren, Jason Sadler, Suzanne Sadler, Brandon Fryman, Chelsea Webster, Bonnie Hankins, Annette Lopez, Kayleigh Evans, Jordin Tolle, Taylor Darnell, Tommy Vallandingham, Kyle Bandy, Ty Vallandingham, Blake Vallandingham, Austin Mays and Gary Summers; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Ware Funeral Home by Rev. Dennis Jackson with visitation being held from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Burial will be in St. Edward Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Ware Funeral Home towards funeral expenses.
Pallbearers will be Jason Sadler, Brandon Fryman, Tanner Irvin, Tommy Vallandingham, Brandon Harms, Grady Vallandingham, Blake Vallandingham, Jared Webster, and Ty Vallandingham.
