Zona Louise Brooks Palmer, age 85, of Cynthiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Harrison Memorial Hospital. She was born in Berry, KY, on October 22, 1937, to the late Omer and Daisy Vienna Miller Brooks, she was a customer service manager at Bullard. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Hervey Harmon “PeeWee” Palmer; six brothers, Omer McKinley Brooks, Everett Brooks, Oscar Brooks, Stanley Brooks, James Brooks, Johnnie Brooks; and three sisters, Nellie Laytart, Barbara Malone, and Helen England.
She is survived by her son, Gregory “PeeWee” Leigh Palmer; daughter, Zona (Michael) Kay Babb; two grandchildren, Brooke (Michael) P. Callahan, Dillion (Chelsea) “PeeWee” Harmon Palmer; and four great grandchildren, Katherine (Micheal) Rose Shelby, Darren Michael Callahan, BreeAnna Callahan, and Natalie Brooke Palmer.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at Ware Funeral Home in Cynthiana. Jeromy Northcutt will officiate the services. A visitation will be Monday, December 5, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM also at Ware Funeral Home. Burial will be at Battle Grove Cemetery Meditation Building. Memorial Contributions can be made to American Cancer Society, 1500 College Way, Lexington, Ky 40502.
Active Pallbearers will be Donald Clay Brooks, Michael Brooks, William Oscar Brooks, Johnnie Brooks Jr., Steve Malone, and Stan Brooks. Honorary Pallbearers will be Stephen Ecklar, Stewart Ecklar, Matt Marsh, and Steve Anderson.
